Gorilla Silverback ATV Tires

Is the Gorilla Silverback the right ATV tire for you?

The biggest, baddest ATV tire in the world so far is the new 32" Silverback made by Gorilla Axle. But can you put a tire this big on your quad or side-by-side. The answer for almost any stock ATV or UTV is no - not without modifications. But for those who are willing to be on the cutting edge will want to be the first to try these out.

Many riders keep a set of stock tires and rims around to use when they don’t want to mess up their good tires.  If that appeals to you then you can benefit from the savings and convenience of ordering tires already mounted on new ATV wheels.  Many retailers will offer a discount on ATV tire and wheel kits when sold as a package.  You can order online and even get free shipping from some sites.  When you get your new ATV tires and wheels all you have to do is bolt them right on.

Rims for vehicles

ATVs using larger diameter wheels (10”) are recommended for larger machines that are transmitting more power to the ground. The larger wheel minimizes tire slip around the wheel. ATV aluminum wheel, designed especially for sport quads, are available. More power is available to the ground when the un-sprung weight and rotational mass is kept to a minimum. The aluminum wheel helps shed the tire/wheel or unsprung weight. Paddle tires get better flotation with wider wheels. Some of the more popular and dependable sand tire manufacturers are ITP, Kenda, GBC. I hope this article will help you make a more informed decision when purchasing sand tires for your vehicle.

Arctic Cat 400 Bogging Rim Considerations

A great ATV adventure is jumping off into a big mud hole and coming out the other side without sticking. This is a nice high and takes a lot of talent and some good equipment. Many people will get stuck and need winching out because they were not prepared. Even the best mud diggers can high center. And sometimes even with the greatest outfitting a first-time rider can get in a fix. What makes it so cool is getting to brag when you succeed where others failed. There are some things you should do to be up to the challenge when you decide to try it. You can gain better ground clearance by adding a lift kit. This can increase your ATV's ground clearance by up to two inches or more. This is only part of the solution but it will help lift your ATV over rocks and tree stumps that may be hidden under the mud. It can also keep you from getting stuck because of the tire ruts of previous riders. Heightening the suspension of your UTV also makes room for taller tires by lifting the fenders away from the tires. Two inches of extra lift might not sound like much. But lifting your UTV more than that can harm your ATV's handling and suspension action as well as the reliability. Raise your UTV too high off the ground and you can cause real instability issues. That can cause degraded performance and be hazardous to your health. You might think the perfect mud ATV would have forty inch tall tires that boast 5" deep lugs. Those tires would be so heavy your Polaris Sportsman would struggle to turn them. Then you’re really stuck. Compromise is why the UTV manufacturers stock your machine with ATV tires that are wimpy. They help your ATV's engine deliver the most power, but they wear fast and provide hardly any bite in the mud. For your dream ride, you have to determine how much tire you can handle, and how much power-robbing weight you’re willing to carry. That mostly depends on your UTV. Buy as much or as little tire as your UTV can handle. [tags utv tire, utv rim,mud digging,four-wheeler,atv mud digging]
